Last Saturday, I videotaped my Zumba class. I thought it might be somewhat encouraging for anyone apprehensive about trying a new fitness class. The reality is that there is no perfection in Zumba or anything else. It’s all about your attitude.
While it is normal to feel somewhat uneasy when trying something new, we tend to be our own worst critics, putting unnecessary pressure on ourselves. More often than not, I have learned that most people are focused on themselves and not me.
The class size was smaller than usual with only three of the regular members in attendance. I was rusty because I had not been to Zumba in over two weeks, and I’m still in learning mode. Although my supportive sisters continuously tell me I’m doing well, I know it’s just a matter of time. While there are several things that I like about this Zumba class, i.e., a really good workout, the people, the instructor, I appreciate the positive and motivating environment.
We are all in that class doing what we can do to be our best healthy. Here’s me getting in my Saturday Zumba fix. Remember – After a certain age, it’s difficult to maintain a size 6, and being fit comes in all different shapes and sizes. Don’t judge us. Enjoy!
Peace & Blessings,
Please disregard the black side bars in the video – I needed to get the full body views to show the steps.
